Grabbed a last minute ticket to see the Yakult (Yakult is a lil milk company) Swallows take on the Yokohama DeNA (DeNA is a software company) Baystars. It was a Friday night game, with a local team, so tickets were scanty. Was able to find one out in center field for ¥3100 (around $21 USD). Not my favorite area of a ballpark to draw, but options were limited unless I wanted to pony up.
*In case you were wondering, my preferred area to draw in the ballpark involves a seat with a nice view of the scoreboard / jumbotron. The jumbotron is the perfect spot to house any important information about the game, and it looks nice in the composition.
11” x 14” is my go to paper size for drawing at a game, but in Tokyo, I think that size might be too big. Compared to CitiField (where most of my game drawing experience comes from) you are much closer to your seat neighbor. With the view I had, I’d have normally drawn horizontally. Since it was such tight quarters, it was more comfortable to draw vertically. No need to be a nuisance to my seat neighbors.

A fun, high scoring game, but ultimately didn’t pan out for the Swallows. We’ll get’m next time.
Thanks for reading along, and see you with another game drawing soon.
Until then,
Herm
